You can sell digital products like e-books, courses, tutorials, and memberships—almost anything as long as it’s allowed. If you’re unsure, it’s easier to check what isn’t permitted (for example, illegal/illicit goods, securities & financial instruments, credit repair, and copyright infringement or piracy).
How does Gumroad pricing work and what fees should I expect?
Gumroad doesn’t charge a monthly fee. Instead, it takes 10% plus $0.50 per transaction for sales through your profile or direct links to your customers, and 30% per transaction when new customers find and buy from you through the discover marketplace.
How is tax handled when I sell internationally on Gumroad?
Gumroad is your Merchant of Record, so it automatically handles sales tax collection and remittance worldwide. From January 1, 2025, you don’t need to manage tax settings in your dashboard, since Gumroad will take care of tax compliance for your global sales.
Can I use Gumroad with my existing website or domain?
Yes. You can embed Gumroad’s payment platform and a follow button on your existing site, or connect Gumroad to your personal site using a custom domain. You can also build your store directly on Gumroad and customize it there.
